North Shore coverage
Find your suburb by area
The suburbs are grouped by part of the coast and harbour, from Devonport and Takapuna round to the East Coast Bays, Kaipātiki and Albany. Each page picks out the roof, surface and access questions that often come up there.

How the coast shapes the work
Where a property sits changes the questions more than the suburb name does. Beachside and harbour-edge roofs often meet more salt and wind, so roof edges, fixings and the state of the coating deserve closer attention. Inland roofs under mature trees tend to collect leaf litter and moss.
Slopes and narrow driveways affect how a building can be reached safely, and townhouses or apartments add shared ownership. None of this can be settled by suburb alone, which is why the address, the building and the access matter so much in an enquiry.
- Salt and wind on exposed coastal edges
- Leaf fall and shade under mature trees
- Slopes and narrow access in hillside streets

Enquiring from a suburb
Details to send from your street
A few local facts help turn a general conversation into one about your own building.
- Your street address, not just the suburb name
- Whether the section is flat, sloping or steep, and how the driveway runs
- How close the building sits to the sea, harbour or open, windy ground
- Trees or overhanging branches near the roof and gutters
- Whether it is a standalone home, townhouse, unit or commercial premises
- Shared driveways, neighbours or a body corporate who need to be involved
Suburb questions
Questions from suburb to suburb
What owners most often ask when they are not sure their address fits.
My suburb is not listed. Do you still cover it?
We cover Auckland, and the suburb pages are a guide rather than a boundary. If yours is not listed, call 09 977 9907 or send your address, and we can discuss the project and the practical arrangements.
Does my suburb change the work needed?
It can shape the questions, such as salt exposure near the water or leaf fall under mature trees, but the building decides the work. Two houses on one street can need very different preparation depending on material, coating and age.
Can I enquire about a rental or shared building?
Yes. Say who owns the building, who lives in it and who approves work. For shared roofs and common property, a committee or body corporate usually needs to agree the scope first, so raise that early.
Why does access come up so often?
Slopes, narrow drives, tall buildings and close fences all affect how a job can be reached safely and how surroundings are protected. Describing access up front lets the scope allow for it instead of discovering it later.
